Hi....Just moved to BT from Virgin where everything was all ok....running an iMac with latest Lion software and a Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7......everything is all ok except when I send an email from the iMac.....it's dreadfully slow.......RX is fine and fast.....both TX and RX are fine on the Toshiba. This upload problem is only there sending via Mail on Safari....uploading an MP3 say directly to MySpace is all ok......also if I access BT Yahoo Mail instead of using Mail/Safari then I can upload an attachment to Yahoo Mail no problem and my outgoing mail is instant and fast....so it seems that the BT Broadband Service doesn't like the TX side of my Safari Mail facility....I've tried rebuilding the Mail Account a few times and checked that all the settings are correct which they appear to be...any ideas out there please?....Cheers, Paul

Can you measure your upload speed at Speedtester
How are you connecting to the mail server IMAP or POP3?

download is 7.6mbits
upload is .26mbits
connection for email on the iMac is IMAP
That is a very slow upload speed, I would expect a minimum of 448Kbs even on ADSL1.
What are your ADSL stats
Remember IMAP does exchange quite a bit of data.
