Sound from downloaded HD movies broken and distorted rendering HD movies unwatchable. No problem with the picture.
Sound good from non-HD movies, real-time Freeview and Freeview recordings through both TV and Surround Sound system.
Setup:
Everything was working OK; no changes to physical system. However, the last 3 HD movie downloads - over a 2 week period - have been unwatchable due to broken 'crackly' sound.
Ideas anyone?

Yes.
With the surround sound system switched off; downloaded HD movies played through the TV speakers (HDMI cable between BTVision Box and TV) the sound is just the same: distorted and crackly.
Thanks

Many thanks.
Firstly, carrying out the previous suggestion, identified my configutaion was not as originally described. We had HDMI to the TV and then optical from the TV to the Surround Sound.
We've now confirmed that downloaded HD movies give distorted sound through the HD TV speakers when the TV is conected to the BT vision Box through an HDMI cable. HDMI cable replaced, sound still distorted. Alternative HDMI input on TV used with both cables, TV speaker sound still distorted.
HD movie sound good (undistorted) through TV speakers with BT vision Box connected to TV via SCART.
HD movie sound excellent through Surround Sound (SS) with SS connected to BT Vision Box via optical cable.
Picture quality OK in all configutaions.
So whilst we now have a means to watch HD movies with excellent sound (Vision to Surround Sound via optical) does this exercise tell me there is a problem with the sound component of the BT Vision Box HDMI output?
