Possible scam call

I've just had a call from 0757****** from an Australian man. He said he was from BT and was calling about my broadband. He knew my name. He asked if I was the main internet user. I was suspicious as it was a cold call from a mobile number. I said I couldn't talk now and put the phone down. Does anyone know if it was a scam call?

@Jacqueline3 - There's lots of sites to check the whether the number is regular spoofer/scammer. Though it is not guaranteed, you can try this one, for example:

It will have been a scam. BT will not call you on a mobile and will never cold call you about a problem with your Broadband.

Thanks. I thought BT would phone me from an 0800 number. I'm glad I ended the call quickly.
