Thank you Leanne, but I don't feel inclined to "jump through hoops" and contact BT customer services when it is clear that my marketing preferences state that I I don't want marketing phone calls. If BT is unable to tell these companies to stick to customer preferences then I suppose I will have to block the numbers of my phone as nuisance calls.

Under "Marketing Preferences" in MyBT, I opted NOT to receive phone calls about latest news and offers. However, in the last couple of weeks I have had several calls from a number in Hertfordshire purporting to come from BT. I assumed these were scams but on further investigation I have discovered that BT have outsourced to three companies these sorts of services. See: https://www.bt.com/partners . It appears that the calls are coming from Step Change Outsourcing (even though "BT" appears on my Caller Display when they phone. Surely, if I have opted not to be pestered by marketing call from BT then this should be carried over to their partners as I well, or do I have to go to the trouble of contacting them individually to register my preference with them as well?
