Hi Everyone,

We are seeing a rise in voice message scams so I wanted to share these examples with you so you can watch out for them.

Automated voice message claims that your National Insurance number is being placed on hold as it’s being used in some criminal activity, and to press 1 to avoid arrest.

There’s also a variation that says they are calling from the HMRC and there is tax fraud being done in your name and to press 1 to speak to someone about it, if you don’t you could be arrested.

Please do not respond to the message by pressing 1. If you receive this call hang up. If you have BT Call protect, hang up and then dial 1572 and choose option 1 to block the number. You can also report the call from here, Report a scam call

Cheers
