    <description>&lt;P&gt;That is an ONT and if you want FTTP from BT then phone FTTP TEAM on 08005874787 and see what they can offer you. You still have to pay line rental but don't need to take a landline package so you cannot phone out or receive calls&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi there,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've moved into a new build and wanting to sort my internet out.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The new build has one of these devices in the cupboard (all lights seem to on green and looks to be working with no issues):&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="image.jpg" style="width: 646px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.bt.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/73542i13D0D8A2DAC32DEE/image-size/large?v=v2&amp;amp;px=999" role="button" title="image.jpg" alt="image.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When speaking to an agent over the phone, they advised I would need a new line installing and may take up to two weeks. After the call I realised I forgot to mention having this device already.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don't want a phone line, just fibre. Does this mean that I could possibly go down the road of a self install? It looks like I just need to connect up the router with the ethernet cable and plug it in to power.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Virgin do &lt;STRONG&gt;not&lt;/STRONG&gt; use that connection, they have their own network. Its an Openreach connection, so you need to use a provider that uses the Openreach FTTP network.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you place an order with BT Retail, it should not take very long, as the network is already installed.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for the reply - I think I've not explained myself very well.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm aware that Virgin don't use the same line. That's ok.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm querying, if I was to place an order for Fibre only with BT - by already having this device - would I need to wait 2 weeks and have a new line installed (as mentioned by the BT sales person)?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;OR&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;By having this device already, would I be able to have the modem sent out and I could connect myself in less than a few days?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;BT will send you a BT Smart Hub 2, which you connect to the Ethernet cable which is hanging loose. That is all you need.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That’s an Openreach ONT ( optical network termination ) and if the lights are steady green, ready for BT to accept an order from you to provide a FTTP &amp;nbsp;broadband service over it, as it’s fibre to the premises very fast speeds are available &amp;nbsp;( probably 900Mb ) but other slower &amp;nbsp;speeds are available too…as you have posted on a BT customer forum, presumably you will be ordering with BT , your address should should show you as having ‘full fibre ‘ available if you order on line, otherwise , as suggested call the FTTP team ( not the regular customer service people ), you don’t need any ‘line’ providing or engineer visit, &amp;nbsp;the address is ‘ready’ &amp;nbsp;simply order and connect the router when it arrives&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
