Letter from BT with somebody else's name & BTID

I am an existing BT customer and today received a letter to my address from BT but the contact name and BTID was somebody else's (the address was obviously mine). Nobody with the name has ever lived here and the letter was offering to upgrade to a faster connection (FF500) so I assume they are also a customer. I called BT and after being passed around the houses they eventually told me to ignore it and throw the letter in the bin (!) but I'd like to try and get it resolved so that at the very least my address is not being used/linked to somebody else's account. Any idea which department I should try and get through to?

Hi @golfer1,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting.

What @Les-Gibson has suggested is the correct. Once that'd done the letter will be returned to BT and they will then remove those details for the Marketing list.

Thanks,

Paddy
