For the last week or so, while going through the various forum posts/topics, quite suddenly the following error message will appear. There is no recovery, necessitating having to kill the browser session and start again.

This isn't too much of a problem as I am always logged in. I am using Edge. We're on FTTC and enjoy decent speeds. Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Request Entity Too Large

The requested resource
/t5/BT-Fibre-broadband/Full-fibre-fault-download-speed-less-than-1Mbps/td-p/2177867/jump-to/first-unread-message
does not allow request data with GET requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.

@Keith_Beddoe I cannot believe I didn't first check the forum for any earlier instances reported by others. This is a sure sign of old age, 75, posing a slight hiccup now and again.

Even without checking the forum, I should, at the very least, have cleared out BT's cookies.

A quick test after doing this has confirmed the solution.

Thanks and appreciated.

I keep a copy of all my posts in an RSS feed within Thunderbird. As I knew I had posted this before, it only took a couple of seconds to locate the post, using the Thunderbird search feature. Much quicker than using the forum search.

@Keith_Beddoe Thanks for mentioning Thunderbird. Are you concerned at all that Mozilla seems to have given up Thunderbird and support is no longer available.

Do you foresee any problems should I switch to Thunderbird from our currently using Windows Mail (Don't ask!)

I previously used the ancient Windows Live Mail but lost everything, program and all, a while back and, of course, the old Live Mail is no longer available for download.

Thunderbird is still maintained by the community. I have no issues with it.

I have been using it since it first was available, and it has a number of advantages, including the ability to process RSS feeds, especially the one that was created for this forum, and produces an almost "real time" listing of all posts, which can be filtered and searched. Saves a lot of time, but you need to have it running on a computer which is on all of the time to keep the feed up to date.

Its very easy to keep a backup copy of all its content. I use IMAP for all my email accounts.
