You really need to check at the test socket first, just in case you have a fault on your internal phone wiring.

I assume this has just started to happen?

The problem is due to your own internal phone wiring, or the way you have things connected up.

Try connecting things up as shown below, then see if you still get the disconnections. If you have any extensions, you should see them connected to the back of the front removable section, unless you have the new NTE5C.

If you have line noise when connected to master but the line is silent when connected to test socket then problem is either your master faceplate or your internal wiring. In either case you need to connect to the test socket with a filter ( probably got filter when received hub) to see if your internet connection is now stable

should the problem be your internal wiring then you will be charged for engineer visit

They do suffer from disconnection problems if they are not fully clicked into place. My guess is that since you replaced the front section, the Internet has been fine.

Do you have any other extension sockets or extension wiring connected? They should not have been active once you removed that bottom section.

If you do, can you please confirm that they are connected to the extension terminals on that NTE5C as shown below.

I assume you have clipped the front section back on, making sure that its pushed tightly in, and held in by the side clips?

If you have done that, and you are still getting a noisy line and disconnections, then its possible that the front Mk4 filter is faulty.

The only way you are going to prove that, is with a microfilter plugged into the test socket, and the phone and BT Home hub plugged into the microfilter.

You should have received one or two microfilters with the home hub that was sent by BT.

Which BT Home hub are you using?
