Master socket

I am currently having some work done on our house, involving new electrical wires etc. Currently, my master socket for my WIFI and phone comes into a room where WIFI is not required, meaning in areas that it is needed it is not as strong. Given the relatively slow speed of our connection extenders are not the best option. I would love my router to be located in my kitchen which is in a central location and where the best connection is required. Would it be better to have a telephone extension socket installed in my kitchen, which would be easy as wires could be run through the walls which are accessible at the moment. I have heard that this may slow down WIFI speeds, but are internal telephone wires now improved and insulated, so there would be no slowdown? The other option would be to relocate the master socket to come into my kitchen but I'm assuming this would be more expensive. Thanks for the help.

I am, but for the property I am concerned with it is actually my residential address.

You can run the BT Home hub from an extension socket without affecting the speed, but it has to be done correctly.

What does your master phone socket look like?

Then you can run a two wire extension from the terminal block underneath.

Only connect wires 2 and 5, not 3, as that can affect the speed.

Thank you, I assume that something like this will do and that my electrician will be able to do this.

Do BT offer their own extension kit

You need to remove that link you posted, as its not permitted on this forum.

BT do not sell their own extension kit, as far as I know. They are available from plenty of places.

Just remember to only terminate the two wires.
