FTTP has just been installed. What happens next?

I accepted the offer for a free upgrade to Full Fibre. Today the engineer installed the white box and a new router downstairs in my front room. My old router is still plugged in upstairs in the main phone socket. I've tried to phone BT but have not got through.

I need to know if I should keep my phone plugged into the upstairs phone socket and when will the 'copper' broadband be switched off.

I am hoping someone can help.

If you haven’t been given Digital Voice yet you keep your phone connected to the NTE.

You'll be notified when you’re being swapped over to Digital Voice.
