Upgrade from bt infinity to bt halo 1

I have recently upgraded my bt broadband from bt infinity to bt halo 1.

the current set up is a bt double master socket connected to a bt openreach modem which in turn is connected to a bt home hub 3.

bt have sent me a smart hub 2.

the cable from the modem to the home hub 3 will not plug into the smart hub 2.

What do i need to do to resolve this ?

You no longer need the modem. Unplug the lead from the modem DSL port and plug it into the DSL port on the new hub.
