Evening,

We have just activated with BT with a guaranteed speed of 27Mbps, but have done speed tests and currently get 0.91 down and 3.59 up. Looks like I have a ip profile of 2.65Mbps. Passed this info on to the help desk today to highlight the issue. They just said to wait for the booked engineer. Can the ip profile be increased remotely or does it require an engineer visit. Many thanks Jamie

That sounds like a disconnected line somewhere. Is your phone working, can you get dial tone?

The profile is calculated from the line speed, no the other way around.

Phone is working. And I can get on the Internet, but no chance to stream anything. Just checked we have FTTC so should be getting decent speed.

Have you tried connecting to the test socket which is behind the faceplate of the master socket

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem
