Upload speed dropped - can it be fixed?

Recently my upload speed dropped from 3-4Mbps to 0.6. I have no idea why this happened and it is below what is expected. How can I get it back up to 3-4? Thank you.

Try a single disconnect of the broadband input to your home hub for about 20 seconds, and allow it to resync.

A loss of upload speed can be caused by a burst of high frequency interference, as the main upload portion on VDSL is situated at the top end of the frequency spectrum.

If the connection speed does not recover, and you have not made any recent changes to your internal phone wiring, then there may be an issue with the external line, but you need to check at the test socket first.

Thanlk you Keith. I left everything turned on and removed the cable from the back of the HH for 20 seconds. This morning the upload speed is a bit better, but not what it was before and not what I should expect according to BT. I havent changed any wiring in my house. Any suggestions on what I could do next?

have you tried using test socket with filter as @Keith_Beddoe suggested?

Hi, I havent tried using test socket with filter as unfortunately I dont know what that means. Could you help me?

remove the 2 screws and detach front (red arrow) but carefully if you have extension wiring connected. then remove the middle section (yellow arrow) should just slip off. the test socket is now shown by black arrow. connect filter and then hub to filter and post new stats

In my experience, reporting a problem with upload speed to BT will get you absolutely nowhere. On the two occasions that I have had no upload at all, (due to an exchange / network fault), when I called BT I was told, "we do not guarantee upload". Both times I had to explain to them how the internet works - ie clicking on a hyper-link sends a request to the internet and therefore the service does not work without any upload! They still had to check with someone else before accepting that it was a fault.
