It won't be "hooked up". You will need to order a phone line initially, once connected the database will be updated showing what you can get. Unless the developer has arranged for FTTP in which case there will be an ONT already installed.

Rural Broadband

<LI-SPOILER>We’re soon going to be moving into a rural new build home postcode RG17 0QT in Chilton Foliat on the Wiltshire/Berkshire border. When searching for available broadband and speeds, BT seems to be the only one that recognises the address and postcode so I believe they have “hooked up” the new property already (it’s in a greenfield area). The estimated speed shows as 11mb, however neighbouring properties show as 67mb. Is this an accurate low speed? Is there any way to increase this speed when nearby houses have fast fibre speeds?

Thank you</LI-SPOILER>

Welcome to this user forum.

Until you get a phone line installed, and the routing is updated on the Openreach database, it would not be possible to determine which cabinet you are connected to, and whether there is any spare capacity for new connections.
