FTTP Modem - spare Ethernet port

I wish to use Ethernet to connect to my home office. Can I simply plug into a spare Ethernet port on the modem or must I connect to the Hub?

There is only 1 active ethernet port on the ONT. The others are disabled. The newer ONT's only come with 1 ethernet port.
