I tried this number. They are all not familiar with ORDI. Their common response is that - they cannot do anything unless Openreach upgrades our address to FTTP capable.

Our next door neighbor got their FTTP connection recently.

I dont understand why we cant have the same.

Any idea?

If you are a BT customer enter your phone number otherwise use your address and post result

Do you have broadband from another ISP?

is your address correct on Royal Mail database?

If you are a BT broadband customer then enter your phone number in the dsl link I posted previously and then post the full results including notes

what about Royal Mail database - your address correct?

FTTP is not available, only FTTC.

FTTP does not come from a cabinet, it comes from a special fibre node, which does not extend to your property.

FTTP on demand is something different and is mainly a business product due to it's cost

as @Keith_Beddoe posted FTTP is not available to you

We are living in semi detached house. The house adjacent to us has the ULTRAFAST FULL FIBRE option available when I checked via Openreach website. Unlike for us, we only have SUPERFAST FIBRE only.

Also, the rest of the houses in our street have these ultrafast option.

My question is, why we can't avail the ultrafast?

If you know their phone number, then enter it into the checker and display the results here, after editing out their phone number.

Unless they are a business user, and had paid the very high installation and maintenance costs, then all they have is FTTC. They may have been sold that as "fibre", but its not an accurate description, its quite misleading.

FTTP on demand, is only a business product, but it still shows up on their page and yours.

Is it the same result if you use your neighbours address in the checker instead of phone number (click Address Checker) at the top of the page where you entered phone numbers)?

using the address in dslchecker is less accurate than using the most accurate phone number to show availability

Yes, it's more accurate for xDSL estimates though in the case of FTTP I've come across several database errors in the past where usually the address checker is showing the correct info. Also, especially as the OP has already said that when he goes to the consumer facing fibre availability site that ultrafast shows as available when he puts in his neighbours details, it's well worth him checking this.

@bkehoe The DSL for the neighbour does not show WBC FTTP being available for the neighbour. The address checker would not change that. It is possible the neighbour has FTTP from a different provider hence asking for town/city they are in.

Looking at their results earlier, it looks like LD/Waterside. Londonderry Waterside.

@Keith_Beddoe Thanks for that. N.I. FTTP deployment is different to the rest of the UK. Could the neighbours be with Fibrus or another FTTP provider?

That said I've looked at this which suggests it may/should be available vis the Openreach network.
