      <title>My broadband has slowed down</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi all&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope someone can help me, I’ve been on Bt for several years.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I just renewed recently in &amp;nbsp;Dec then again in Jan to Bt Halo 3+ but I noticed one day (I’m terrible for checking paperwork) that I’ve had a reduction in speed. I always used to get round the 20/25Meg mark ever since I’ve had BT &amp;nbsp;but now I’m lucky to get 14Meg&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;how come since I renewed I’ve gone down to 14M? and in peak times I’m around 7-11Meg??&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I’ve attached two pics below.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Which exchange and cab are you on. Was on to phone of dslchecker results but you have deleted it&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;have you been having connection problems with router dropping connection or manual reset or maybe a bit of both?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;which master do you have&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;From you hub stats you connection speed is only 15mb but attainable is 30mb and your noise margin is very high at 14db suggesting line problems normally line noise. &amp;nbsp;However if quiet can you try connecting to the test socket with a filter and repost your hub stats please&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;test socket shown by black arrow but areter removing from shown by red arrow you need to also remove,idle section shown by yellow arrow which then uncovers test socket&lt;/P&gt;

After doing the test earlier, my dad rang and oh blimey what a load of crackling and hissing from our call.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;so after I spoke to my dad via mobile.. I did another test and took off the base plate and used a corded phone again ,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;and there was some intermittent crackling and noise. So I’ve spoken to the BT operator who’s agreed there is noise on the phoneline and as I’ve spoken to them via using the corded phone on the test socket they will now send an engineer to look.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks for your help&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i’ll keep you posted.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Your speed is below the handback threshold for that line so you should be able to require some action from BT i believe.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;have had openreach round&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;no fault found&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;however he wasnt allowed inside to check master socket so still back to sqare one&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;now massive buzzing and crackling noise when raining from the master test socket&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;now awaiting another call&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thank heavens for BT Hybrid Connect!!! other there would be mutiny in the mikkster household with no xbox live and netflix etc LOL&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a BT infinity master socket so no need for filters, I don’t own one now anyway - spoke to faults again and they are convnicned its &amp;nbsp;a BT issue.. so I’ll let them deal with it for now.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;they sent the wrong type of appointment round. They need to inspect the master socket etc which the engineer today wasn’t allowed to do..&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>My speed originally started at 55Mbps and is now at 22Mbps. Unfortunately I cannot do anything about this as openreach have not closed a house move order for 5 weeks and this is stopping me ordering fibre2.&lt;BR /&gt;Apparently the order has been escalated 3 times and on the 4th I decided to enquire with Vodafone</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The engineer came today&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;There was a very unobvious small chew bite on the outside cable which basically looked like a rat had tried to chew.( no other explanation- I have no pets etc) Was unobvious until you went in closely. Was rejoined and new pairs etc etc.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I asked the engineer if I was going to be charged he said no. But I'll await my next bill..&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Broadband now working fine and back to my original speeds on around 30Mg&amp;nbsp; and landline crystal clear again.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Been told full fibre will be in my area within next two years so that was music to my ears.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks for all the help.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
