Other posts on here state the ONT (Being a small box the size of a BT box) does not have a modem.

I have tried to connect the Netgear to the ONT and it didn't do anything. Besides we have the advance digital phones so if we dont use HH2 Wifi we would still need to use the HH2 for the phones.

I am just showing that the devices connected to Wifi are capable of 300-400Mbps at least.

Speaking to BT tonight they advised as I knew we have 1000 coming into the house and they will only guarantee 10Mbps using Wifi which begs the question why bother with 900Mbs

Hey All

We have FTTP at 900mbps which has been in for a week.

On an old PC connected by ethernet we are getting 1.2Gbps where as a new laptop with WiFi6 we are getting 15Mbps in the evening its right next to the HH2 (During the day we can get 200-300 on the Laptop) - there is no other significant loading on the network either. Called BT and they did say our speed to the modem was slightly lower than expected. A BT engineer is coming tomorrow but is there any possible issues that I should check on the HH2.

Any ideas.

Yeah I had to as our sonos wouldn’t work with Smart Setup

We also had two HH2 sent so different serial numbers that wouldn’t be the issue would it if they expect another HH2

If I have read your post correctly you are saying you get 200 - 300 Mbps via wireless on your laptop during the day but only 15Mbps via wireless on your laptop in the evening. If that is correct it would appear that there is some sort of inference affecting your wireless connection in the evening.

Is there any electrical device that is switched on in the evening that coincides with the drop in speed?

I wouldn't expect the serial number to make any difference.

Just for clarity, how many routers are connected to your network? multiple routers can cause a problem if not correctly set-up.

So you have SH2 connected to broadband and Netgear Nighthawk connected to a LAN socket on the SH2?

If that's right then you need to disable the DHCP server on one of the routers, it doesn't matter which one as long as they're both on the 192.168.1.xxx subnet

No real pattern it just appears to suffer on an evening however as said the Netgear is giving 200+ and as it’s simply plugged into the HH2 I would expect the HH2 to be capable of speeds higher than 15Mbps.

Maybe I should check if someone in nearby house has an old TV like that couple in a village that caused all the service to stop lol
