    <description>&lt;P&gt;hello everyone, this is my first post,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have a problem with the latency fluctuating drastically at my address.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;this start a few weeks ago and i keep getting disconnected from online games because my ping becomes too high.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have ran a tracert via command prompt to google and these are my results&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1 7 ms 5 ms 6 ms router.asus.com [192.168.1.1]&lt;BR /&gt;2 42 ms 41 ms 43 ms 172.16.10.207&lt;BR /&gt;3 * * * Request timed out.&lt;BR /&gt;4 65 ms 44 ms 48 ms 31.55.186.184&lt;BR /&gt;5 36 ms 36 ms 35 ms host213-121-192-58.ukcore.bt.net [213.121.192.58]&lt;BR /&gt;6 35 ms 35 ms 89 ms peer3-et7-0-0.slough.ukcore.bt.net [194.72.16.52]&lt;BR /&gt;7 35 ms 37 ms 35 ms 109.159.253.75&lt;BR /&gt;8 35 ms 35 ms 37 ms 74.125.253.31&lt;BR /&gt;9 37 ms 36 ms 36 ms 209.85.241.93&lt;BR /&gt;10 35 ms 35 ms 34 ms lhr25s26-in-f4.1e100.net [172.217.169.4]&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;is that second IP address the BT cabinet? 43 ms seems very high considering it is the first IP address outside of my premises&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have also ran a&amp;nbsp; ping test from modem/router (asus dsl ac68u) and here are those results.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;64 bytes from 172.217.169.36: seq=0 ttl=116 time=31.462 ms&lt;BR /&gt;64 bytes from 172.217.169.36: seq=1 ttl=116 time=31.301 ms&lt;BR /&gt;64 bytes from 172.217.169.36: seq=2 ttl=116 time=31.418 ms&lt;BR /&gt;64 bytes from 172.217.169.36: seq=3 ttl=116 time=31.694 ms&lt;BR /&gt;64 bytes from 172.217.169.36: seq=4 ttl=116 time=31.832 ms&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;on Friday the problem seemed to have disappeared and the broadband worked flawlessly and when I did another ping test on that day the ping was 7ms.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;does this seems like a faulty phone line? we are on a VDSL connection and use BT fibre.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;anyone who can point me in the right direction to either find a fix or conduct more fault finding would be very much appreciated.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;many thanks&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Dillan&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
