Hi,

Last Tuesday my internet dropped out, the smart hub reported no connection.

I rebooted the fttp modem and router and the problem remained.

Lights on the fibre modem show active (green lights on Power, Fibre and Lan) but the router wouldn't connect.

Rang BT to report the fault, arranged engineer and offered to send me a mobile hub as a temp fix.

I then remembered that I had a old Netgear Nighthawk Router (R7000) and decided to try it - worth a punt.

The Netgear connected immediately - within 10 secs. I then tried the BT Hub again and nope, nothing. Fixed Orange lights.

Spoke to BT again and explained the situation and they sent me a new smart hub.

Guess what , new smart hub will not connect , swapped cables, power supply, reset hub and modem and no joy, same Fixed orange lights.

Connect my Netgear and it connects immediately.

Spoke to BT again and they are sending another Hub.

Anybody any Ideas?

I cant fault the service from BT , it's been very good, I'm just confused as to why my R7000 connects ok yet the smarthub dosen't

Or am I just unlucky!

ME
