Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

Provided that is the only socket, and you have no other extensions, then the problem is likely to be external. That is more likely if your line comes in overhead.

I have assumed this is a "fibre" broadband connection.

Yes this Is the only socket
Old owners of this house had a second socket but I cut that years ago
This Is at the front of the house from which I can see a thick black wire exit to the front of the building
I’m just baffled at how it was solid orange but then whilst on the call to BT they were trying to fix it it suddenly turns flashing purple
Also Is it normal for my devices to still pick up the Wi-fi but obviously not connecting? It’s like the devices recognise a signal
Bt said on their end everything seems fine
Just hope I’m not hit with an unnecessary bill

Yes, the WiFi signal is just between your device and the hub. Devices can still connect to each other without a broadband connection. E.g you can still use a WiFi printer.

Wireless signal will still be there, even if there is no connectivity.

Unfortunately, with Digital Voice there is no voltage on the line, and this makes the connection more likely to fail due to high resistance on the copper joints. In my personal opinion, its asking for trouble. It does make sense on FTTP, as there is no other option. connections.

If you only have that socket, then there is no more testing you can do, as the fault is going to be external, so there should be no charge.

Sorry just read the overhead thing
I believe my connection goes underground
Is that an issue within itself? I mean on the external wall I see the thick black wire go into the ground
