I used to get 70+/20 with Vodafone, but it suddenly dropped to around 50/20 several months ago. I did wonder if it was a crude throttling measure, and they certainly weren't inclined to do much about it. Like many others I didn't dare to switch providers while working from home, but part of the reason for switching now was to see if it would trigger a reset. Be careful what you wish for, I suppose...

Anyway, I will be patient and let it play out. Thanks for your speedy support.

Hello,

My switchover from Vodafone to Fibre 2 went live today.

I noticed the data rate to the hub is showing as 55/10, which looks suspiciously like Fibre 1. The line is capable of more:

Product name BT Smart Hub 2
Fireware version v0.26.03.01286-BT (Thu Jan 28 17:38:02 2021)
Board version R01
GUI version 1.74 12_11_2020
DSL uptime 0 days 8 Hours 10 Mins 28 Secs
Data rate 10.0 Mbps / 55.0 Mbps
Maximum Data rate 19.8 Mbps / 66.3 Mbps
Noise margin 12.9/8.8
Line attenuation 8.4/16.8
Signal attenuation 8.4/21.5
VLAN id 101
Upstream error control Off
Downstream error control Off
Data sent / received 1.3 GB Uploaded / 2.1 GB Downloaded

Am I right to think that this has been misconfigured? Online help refuses to respond because "Order in progress" - is there any way to sort it out now or do I have to wait for the slow-motion car crash to play out?

By the way, the hub definately says "Firewire version" 🙂

All a bit strange, you appear to have been on a hybrid 55/20 profile on the 28th Feb according to the screenshot of the checker. I suspect the port in the cabinet is misconfigured somehow but you will have to wait for the order to complete before you can take things any further.
