Do I need to use the BT Smart Hub 2 with FTTP?

Do I need to use the BT Smart Hub with the BT Fiber To The Premise setup? I have a Ubiquity Dream Machine as my main router and wifi unit and have already turned off wifi on the smart hub but if I can completely bypass it that would be a lot better.

If you don't need Digital Voice service (DECT based and working only with SH2) then NOPE, you don't need SH2 on FTTP.

You will need configure your router to PPoE connection and that's it.

In case of any trouble, you will need to place on SH2, while BT will refuse any support without SH2
