Fibre 2 not showing even though my line supports it...

Hi all.

Bit of a follow up thread from my previous post.
BT ADSL service is live and I am looking to order FTTC tomorrow.

BT checker states 80/20 available but BT site states only fibre 1 can be ordered.

Can anyone help please? Mods maybe?

If your BT phone number is up and running then Can you post the dslchecker results

Post crossed. Is that from using phone number or address

I used my phone number. But blanked it out as per the guidelines.

I think you are going to initially Have to accept fibre 1 as offered as your bottom estimate range is below 55mb andd handback only 47mb. If after connection your stats justify fibre 2 then maybe mods will be able to help

Great, thanks @imjolly I will order as is then and see what my router stats say. My next door neighbour has 80/20 so no problem with the distance etc. I will follow up later...

Hi all.

FTTC has been setup now, and is running at my house. Router states 55/10 current connection but 76/15 maximum available.

Should fibre 2 be possible on the line?

Thanks @licquorice 😊 👍 I thought so, but I’m still showing fibre 1 as my only option on BT’s website though. Think the mods can maybe help me here?

Hi guys.

Fibre 2 ordered and order complete.

Checked and the router is still capped at 55/10 it seems. It won’t sync any quicker.

Any ideas? I should be getting 70 odd / 15 according to the routers maximum available speed.

do I need openreach to change anything on the fibre port or can bt customer service sort it?

Thanks for your posts and welcome back.

Sorry for the problems with your broadband speed. I understand that from the outset you intended to go straight on to Fibre 2 but it was only showing Fibre 1 speeds available at that time. Going by your Hub stats, your line is definitely capable of the Fibre 2 speeds. I'm sorry that the upgrade hasn't made any change to your speed.

There is no need for an engineer to visit as we can remotely change your speeds to the Fibre 2 product from here. I have sent you a private message with instructions on how you can send us over your details and we'll look into this for you. See: Private messages
