Existing cables for FTTP

Hi, I’m sorry if this has been asked before I couldn’t find an answer for this exact question

We currently have Virgin fibre, and from my understanding the BT FTTP cannot use the same cables as we already have, is this correct?

We also have an old BT Openreach socket inside the house - is this of any use for BT FTTP?

Or will an engineer have to run a completely new cable into our house? If so, would the engineer be happy to run the cable from a hole to the third floor loft? This is where Virgin has already installed our fibre cable.

The virgin cables are no use nor is the existing openreach socket for FTTP.

You would need to discuss your preferred installation of the ONT

That is not the connection point on the pole.you'll be connected to a service point similar to this.
