UAS is unavailable seconds, ie down. You just had a 35 second line break, but otherwise stats look really good.

Thanks, so the modem looks good, (Zyxel DSL modem/router).

I have an Ipv6 problem with the Zyxel, but I can use it in bridge mode to feed into the WAN port of a FTTP Smart Hub 2 which should sort out the Ipv6 issue and having an external modem should stop BT telling the SH2 to reboot..... hopefully.

Yes, modem looks fine. All Smart Hub 2s with the latest firmware are now capable of configuring LAN port 4 as a WAN port, you don't need the specific red port FTTP version any longer.

Unfortunately having a modem won't stop BT re-booting the hub if they feel the need though.

Any modem will be transparent to any commands sent to the hub. Can you not just use the Zyxel as a modem/ router and bin the hub.

No, because I can't get Ipv6 working on the Zyxel, which seems to be a problem with 3rd party routers in general.

Perhaps a Tp-Link VR 600 v2 would do the job some have got that working with IPv6, I think it has the same Broadcom chipset as the Zyxel, but the v3 uses a Mediatech.... or does it.... so much conflicting information.

Hmm, not sure why IPv6 is so important at the moment, there are extremely few IPv6 only sites.

Have you asked on the Kitz forum about configuring IPv6, there are a lot of Zyxel users on there?

At the moment I have the Zyxel in router mode with wifi off feeding a whole home premium mesh system which works really well, until BT reboot the hub. Previously I had complete wifi but had to ditch that because it kept switching the backhaul to 2.4ghz and the throughput dropped to 1mbps until I did a power off reset. So many annoying and expensive problems.

My problem is that I'm a perfectionist and like things to work properly. Kitz posters can mostly not get Zyxels working with BT, something about preceding characters and BTs implementation of Ipv6, hence wanting to stick with BT router.

Unfortunately, the SH2 won't play ball with the Zyxel in bridge mode. Maybe it's locked to BT modems?

I'll buy a S/H HG612 off ebay and try that. If that's not successful I'll have to get a 3rd party modem/router and hope for the best with Ipv6.

Thanks for your help.

Are you sure you have configured the Zyxel correctly, the SH2 doesn't care what modem you use. Did you set the vlan ID to 101 on the Zyxel.

802.1p set to 0 and 802.1q set to 101 on the Zyxel.

I had it working in bridge mode with a TP-Link TL-WR841N, it worked but IPv6 was intermittent so I had to return it. IPv6 works fine on the SH2 when using it's own modem.

Maybe I'm missing something on the SH2 but I factory reset, changed to FTTP, connected port 4 to port 1 on the Zyxel and it went orange and stayed there. There was no option to set MTU etc which was on the TP-Link.

That's weird, the SH2 should be agnostic to modem used. Unfortunately I have only tried it with an HG 612 so can't put hand on heart to say it definitely will work with any modem but I can't see how it doesn't, there's nothing special about the HG612

Yes, TP Link seem to have sorted IPv6 with that model although they never did with the 9980 that I used to use.
