Large File Download - Internet Disconnecting

I am high-speed fibre broadband customer and I am trying to download a file of approx 10.5 gb (OS map file) via wifi. About 20 minutes into download, internet disconnects. I have seen people having posted similar problems on BT Community, but I haven't found a solution. Anyone assist?

Welcome to this user forum.

You really need to do large downloads over an Ethernet connection, as wireless is quite likely to disconnect during that period, especially if there are errors on the wireless path.

Do the lights on the home hub change colour when you get the disconnection?

20 minutes seems like a mildly ominous figure, are you sure it's not the power and sleep settings on your machine causing the problem

Thank you for the responses and assistance. The problem seems to be related to downloading over wifi. Download also failed when I tried to use Android devices as well. I've purchased ethernet cable and will try that when it arrives. Once again, thanks for taking the time to respond.
