Ping spikes .... sigh

I've been having ping spikes for a few months now and they're getting worse. Game-playing largely impossible, streaming etc. ok.

If I ping 8.8.8.8 I can see approx 4 second spikes. Similarly in pingplotter.

There is no noise on the line.

Is there anything I can do from here?

Hi @nickt1 Sorry you are experiencing a problem with ping spikes when gaming and streaming.

Please would you connect your gaming device directly to the Hub with an Ethernet cable and ensure you have no powerline adapters or ethernet switches are connected.
Are you using the BT Hub? If not please connect it up and check the ping.

What ms are you seeing on the ping spikes?

Late reply... Sorry.

I tried resetting router completely and it actually went back to normal for a few days. And then started again...

Yes, I'm using the hub.

Pinging the hub wired results in the following - see the spikes?
