How safe is BT WiFi Access?

I am just moving house and temporarily will need an internet connection. I am thinking about getting the BT WiFi Access for 30 days for £39.

I just wanted to know how safe it is to use?

Define safe.

Its a public wifi network, probably best not to use it for online banking etc.

There's no network in the world that can say that.

Treat it as you would any public wifi network although it is safer than wifi in a pub or shop supplied by the owner of the router.

Web access would be monitored by BT, only to comply with any legal requirements, but no other user can see your connection, as each connection is separate.

Most important websites would be encrypted anyway, especially banking ones.

You are probably safer on a BT Wifi connection, than you would be on other public WiFi hotspots.

Make sure you have a strong and reliable signal, before you pay your subscription. It would be better just to pay for a couple of days to start with, to prove the connection.

To make sure you are not connecting to a spoofed wifi signal, first try logging in with incorrect credentials.

If you have a decent data plan for your mobile phone and if you get a good 4g signal you could use your phone's mobile data and tether any other devices to the phone.

This will be more secure than any public hotspot.

If you need more data you will probably find that the £39 you were prepared to spend on BTWifi will buy you a decent amount of mobile data from your phone provider.
