If I use a third party VDSL modem and router (needed for VPN) instead of the BT smart hub 6A, will BT’s stayfast continue to work?

Stayfast works extremely well at the moment, it appears to be error-free, delivering a sync speed of approximately 10Mbit/s, with a signal to noise ratio down at 3dB! (my fibre service necessarily includes 2 miles of overhead copper line).

The WAN IP changes several times per day, presumably when re-syncing? Please confirm this functionality will continue and so give me the best possible speed when using a third party modem and router.

Stayfast isn't a functionality, its just an add on to your package that guarantees your speed. Using a third party router won't change anything. If you do have a fault, you might have to temporarily re-connect the HH for diagnosis purposes.
