The Smart Hub 2 controls it. Its intended use is to only kick in if your broadband goes down, not is place of it. It provides your broadband while your broadband is repaired.

I have BT Halo 2 and with FTC get never more than 25megs speed. However with BT Mobile I routinely over 100megs. I have an unlimited mobile data contract.

If I had Hybrid Connect and unplugged the BT Smart Hub2 from the network would I deliver the 4G mobile signal via my wifi?

I've just purchased BT Hybrid Connect and I looked up the very same question.

Here's the official answer;

Hybrid Connect uses the EE mobile network to give you a connection of up to 30 Mbps (download speed) and 5 Mbps (upload speed). But your speed might vary depending on the mobile signal to your Hybrid Connect and how busy the network is.

https://www.bt.com/help/bt-halo/getting-set-up/tips-for-using-hybrid-connect

I get over 230 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload on my BT Mobile 4G but on Hybrid Connect they cap it to 30/5.
