I did something similar before I switched to FTTP and it all worked out of the box. However, I wanted to use the BT app with the SH2 / discs and needed to call BT at the time to associate the app with the SH2. Not sure if it’s still the same. Keep in mind

There are lots of good mesh network alternatives out there to consider as well.
You cannot split the Wi-fi channels with SH2.
The rumour mill is speculating a new one with Wi-fi 6 is on the way soon.

Afternoon,

I have a standard Fibre 1 package with good speeds.

The WiFi signal to the loft rooms can be a little patchy understandably.

Is there any reason why I cannot purchase a Smart Hub 2 and Disc and use them? Will I need to alter my package too?

Cheers

Or simply add a powerline wifi hotspot such as the TP Link 4220 https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-wpa4220-tkit/

or https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-wpa7510-kit/

if you want faster speed and dual band.

Thanks for the suggestions.

My concern with the TP Link solutions is there's limited power sockets upstairs and I doubt they're on the same circuit as the router, unless that isn't an issue?

As long as they are on the same consumer unit they should be fine. There are pass through versions available if you are short of sockets.

Yes all on the same consumer unit. I'll have a look into them and see what's best 👍🏻
