I hadn't tried the Google DNS settings on my iPhone until you suggested it, and it worked. Thank-you. The news feed now works as expected.

But curious to know why the BT DNS server blocks content like this?

BT WiFi blocking Aloha Browser app news feed

Hi, I use the Aloha Browser app on my iPhone. It has a really useful news feed but does not load/ update when I am on my home BT WiFi. The browser function of the app works fine - just something is blocking the news feed.

The news feed does load correctly if I am on another WiFi network, e.g. tried it on McDonalds WiFi this morning, and it also works on 4G mobile.

Problem is not router related - I have tried different set-ups and the problem remains.

Has to be a BT issue, perhaps DNS-related.

Problem started when I upgraded from 300Mb to the 900Mb service last Autumn, so wondering if that could also be a reason.

Any help appreciated

Could it be possible that Web Protect is in fact activated on my account, despite showing otherwise in My BT?

Is anyone aware of this happening before?

I guess its possible, but I haven't seen any reports of it on here.

Have you tried using Google or Open DNS on your iPhone
