    <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes to all of these.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; I have a Smart hub2 working absolutely&amp;nbsp; fine, but this is connected to the Hub Manager via my PC.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I started to look for a pc independent route of running a smart TV when the PC power supply fan started making ominous noises.&amp;nbsp; I connected up the older Hub 5 to to BB via the DSL&amp;nbsp; socket.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; There is no access to a hub manager.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The Hub5 is broadcasting at high field levels that should be adequate for purpose.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Both TV and NetGem box apparently connect to wifi on screen, but the all of the apps say there is no wifi connection.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;If my pc dies can I still access the internet, at least partially?&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I have the normal set up that my internet is booted up when I turn on my pc.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Do I have to do this for just a smart tv ?&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;If I made the physical connections of&amp;nbsp; BB phone socket to router and router to smart TV&amp;nbsp; is their&amp;nbsp; sufficient intelligence in a smart tv to establish the internet connection?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Alternatively I have a NetGem box that appears to have the same level of&amp;nbsp; capability as a smart TV.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;An academic question at the moment, but my pc is fairly geriatric.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>It’s not a normal set up that booting up the PC also starts the internet, broadband is effectively always ‘on’, your PC status is irrelevant, so if your ‘smart’ TV is connected to your router it’s connected to the internet independently from the PC, if the smart TV has a rudimentary browser then you can access websites etc ( although it’s usually not as user friendly as a laptop or tablet )</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Tried most of this and cannot get it to work.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I resurrected a BT Hub 5 and connected up power and DSL inputs.&amp;nbsp; Field meter indicates that I have more than adequate strength . -40dbm.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; Tried smart TV&amp;nbsp; and it claims to be connected , but all of the apps.&amp;nbsp; Iplayer etc.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;do not function.&amp;nbsp; Same result with Netgem box.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; The Hub has a red light indicating that I have used the wrong PW.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;It is almost as though the BT Hub cannot function unless it has a connection to the Hub Manager&amp;nbsp; through the PC.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Tried a direct ethernet connection with the same result.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; ?????&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;There is absolutely no need to have a PC connected to your hub for it to work. If it has a red light it means it doesn't have a broadband connection, nothing to do with passwords. Do you have dial tone on your phone? Have you tried connecting the hub to the test socket behind the removable faceplate of the master socket.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm totally confused as to what you are doing. Are you attempting to connect 2 hubs to line at the same time because you can't do that.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Make sure you have turned off Smart Setup on the SH2.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;WiFi signal strength is totally independent of internet connection. WiFi will be available if the hub isn't connected to line.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Not sure what you mean by your PC is connected to the hub manager. The hub manager is just a website that is hosted on your hub rather than the internet.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
