New Router connection issues with PS4

I was recently sent a new router from BT, but this has caused a very slow connection to my Playstation 4. I have set the new router up in the exact same location as the old router; the previous router had no problems with the console and I was getting speeds of around 20-25mbps.

This new router is now giving speeds of around 100kbps - 5mbps which is much too slow, but the issue is only with the PS4. The average download speed when I do an internet test is 40-50mbps, and no other devices suffer from a slow connection.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Turn off Smart Setup on the home hub.

Hi @MrZurkon and welcome back.

@Keith_Beddoe advice is sound. Switching off smart set up usually solves these issues so please give it a go and let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the response.

I have switched off smart setup but the issue persists, particularly in the evening time when the connection is around 220kbps.
