Router and ONT

Just recently had FTTH and wondered if I can connect a router straight into the ONT? I'm looking at buying 3rd party router and wondered if anyone else has done this? The ONT is a modem/multiplexer from what I know so no need for the bt hub 2?

If anyone knows it would be much appreciated, thanks.

Of course you can, countless folks do just that. You just need to enter the generic PPPoE login details on the third party router which are Username bthomehub@btbroadband.com and password BT.

Just bear in mind that if you have Digital Voice, it will not work with a third party router, it requires the Smart Hub2 which acts as a DECT base station.
