Cctv sv3c camera

Hello I hope you can help

we have bought a SV3C CCTV Camera unfortunately it will not connect it to our bt smart hub2

which has replaced our old bt router

In the instructions it says the camera only pick up 2.4ghz we were informed that the bt smart hub2 has a sliding scale from 2.4 to 5ghz so thought it would be ok any help would be much appreciated how to install the camera on BT smart hub2

The first thing to do is to turn off Smart Setup on the hub, this causes untold problems.

The Hub 2 has 2 wifi bands, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz but they have the same name (SSID). Whilst devices that are only 2.4Ghz should have no problems, some devices do seem to struggle with the 2 bands having the same SSID. Temporarily turning off the 5Ghz band until the device has connected and then turning it back on again afterwards seems to work for many devices that have the problem.

Its not clear from your post if the camera worked OK with the old hub.

its a new camera and a new smart hub2

old camera worked fine. Can I turn off smart setup via my iPad?

Yes if you select desktop site on the browser rather than mobile site for the hub manager page.

I followed instructions switching smart setup of
Unfortunately still can’t connect cctv camera

Did you try turning off the 5Ghz wireless temporarily?

No just turned off smart setup

Not sure where you turn off 5Ghz

I have looked at the page above change the settings to the 5GHz

pressed save a warning came up

after changing the configurations settings devices connected to your BT smart hub may lose connection for devices connected via wireless you may lose access to the BT hub manager pages and you will need to reconnect each device using the instructions provided with your devices

not sure what to do

Just ignore it, it just means that if you have any devices connected at 5Ghz they will be disconnected. They should just re-connect at 2.4Ghz if you have any devices connected. You only need to turn off the 5Ghz temporarily until the camera has connected.

Perhaps the camera is out of range of the Wi-Fi?

Is the camera set for a static IP Address or does it acquire it automatically?

Does the camera show in My Network (http://192.168.1.254/my_network.htm) on a green background?

Have you assigned it a port?

How are you trying to access it (http, rtsp, mobile app etc)

If rtsp, have you told it which stream to monitor? e.g. rtsp://192.168.1.[xxx}:[rtsp port number]/[stream] where stream (for SV3C) is usually 11 or 12 (where 11 is the main stream and 12 the sub stream)

For example; rtsp://192.168.1.111:32765/11
