We're thinking of buying one of the new Nuisance Blocking phones (probably a triple handset). We have always kept an old 'manual' phone which does not rely on mains electricity, thinking that this is useful in a powercut/emergency. Will that upset the 100% nuisance blocking system on our new phones if we go ahead?

If a wired phone is plugged in as well, you are likely to hear a short ring on it, before the call blocking phone takes the call. It should not affect the call blocking.

The BT4600 is very popular.
