I have been a BT customer for 3 years and have just renewed for another 2 years. For financial reasons I have cancelled BT Sports and my new contract is just for BB. I have received an email asking for the return of my TV box. This is the 3rd time I have renewed and on each occasion I have checked alternative providers. Previously I was informed that being out of contract for TV I could keep the TV box. Do I have to return the box and what will happen if I do not.

Bt changed its Terms & Conditions on 13 December 2019,

So the simple answer is that if your TV box was supplied before that date the T&Cs in place under your contract at that time the box is your property and you do not need to return .

So if you wish to keep it you can and it will function as a normal Youview box.
