Hello! I recently bought the BT Advanced Cordless Home Phone Trio.

We are in a townhouse and my husband has to have the base unit on the top floor in his study as that is the only convenient phone line plug. Then we have a handset phone on the middle floor in the lounge, and bottom floor in the kitchen.

My problem is my husband is in meetings all day and can’t have the phone ringing up in his study. I managed to turn the base volume off so the answer phone message doesn’t blare out! It didn’t seem to work when I set this up to “off” via the Settings, I physically had to press the volume button down repeatedly on the base unit itself. Not sure why ...

Anyway, the other issue is that I need to be able to call him internally, eg in the evenings to come down 2 floors for dinner! I’m lazy! But, if I turn his handset volume off, so he isn’t disturbed by external calls coming to the house, there doesn’t seem to be a way to to allow internal calls to ring on his handset? Am I missing something? Does the volume always have to be the same on his handset for internal and external calls?

If this is not possible, is there another trio handset where it is?

Thanks!
