Do the advanced phones work via BT Whole Home or do they all have to be in range of the smart hub 2?

Do the advanced phones work via BT Whole Home or do they all have to be in range of the smart hub 2? Or if the first one is in range of the SH2 , do the rest link to that? I have a long thin house!

They use DECT, so they have to be in range of the SH2, which is the base station.

Is there anything that does work as a phone via the whole home? Apart from a mobile of course.
