Router 2 firmware update help please

Hi all ive just joined bt and didn't realise that the smart hub 2 you can't split the bands, my smart plugs work on 2.4ghz

Do bt offer a firmware upgrade so the bands can be split or can they supply an older router whereby bands can be split.

The answer to both questions is no. There should be no reason for devices that only work on 2.4Ghz not to work but some Smart plugs seem to struggle for some inexplicable reason. Turn off the 5Ghz wireless until they have connected and then turn it back on again.

Make sure Smart Setup is also turned off on the hub, that causes untold problems.
