BT Premium Phone / ansaphone

BT PREMIUM PHONE HANDSET & ANSAPHONE- phone rings, but can’t answer; can’t get a dial tone to call out. Tried a different handset and can receive calls / dial out perfectly . Clearly handset issue - Any ideas?

Hi, @Tedw1 Welcome to the community and thanks for posting, I'm sorry to see you're having problems with your BT Premium phone. I'd recommend trying the guidance on page 62 of the user manual hopefully that may help you get the handset going again.

Ive tried the troubleshooting; factory reset; & tried a different phone in the socket (that works perfectly).

Incoming calls: base / handset rings, but when answering the call the handset stops ringing and base continues to ring. However - all you can hear through the handset is a distorted ring tone / clicking sound as the call has clearly not connected.

Outgoing: can’t get a dial tone, just a high pitched buzz.
time for a new one?
