BT4600 Doesn't recognise when I pick up the handset off the cradle.

BT4600 Twin. Doesn't stop ringing when I pick up an incoming call. I have to press the Green Button to speak/hear. Same for both handsets. It doesn't seem to know I've picked up.

Have I somehow changed a preference or menu option?

It's actually the phone of my rather tech non-savvy father (of 87) and yes apparently that is the issue and looks to be the correct 'fix' which I shall do when I see him next.
