BT 8500 Handset Lost PIN and no BASE Unit

I have a single - BT 8500 Quad additional handset with charger stand but no main base unit and cannot reset the PIN in the menu

I tried a reset but this does not reset the PIN and I do not have the PIN from the previous user

I wanted to use this as a additional handset with my existing BT2700 Base Unit/Handset

When I try and register the 8500 to the 2700 the 8500 asks for a PIN which I do not have

I tried 0000 withot success

Appreciate any solutions - thanks

did you try 1111 which appears to be the BT8500 default

no good tried 1111 0000 1234, 4321 and no success

Is there some way of reseting the PIN ?
