I have been given a brand new unwanted BT box by a colleague. I know there is the Multi Room option Package from BT for an extra fiver - but as I have the box I wanted to see if I could just rig it up and use it to record without upping my subscription. I currently link my main Box using power Powerline adaptors - so if I invest in another set could in theory plug in the 2nd box or would the hub block it as I haven't got a 2nd subscription? I'm not bothered about using it for streaming any on-line content, just to record terrestrial TV to watch later.

Thanks for any tips.

Ah - I have found another thread where people say it can be used as a freeview recorder with no internet connection. But not sure about the EPG - if that'll work?

The BT TV app also connects to one of those boxes quite happily.
