Why is my Freeview Play TV picking up freeview channels that my BT Youview box doesn't, using the same aerial?

It probably has a stronger tuner than the ones in the Youview box.

It has more modern equipment so it should be better

Because you have a marginal Freeview signal.

Thanks both. Gomez, sorry I am not a technical whizz, what is a marginal signal and is there anything I can do about it?

1) Check the aerial and wiring is all in good condition and that the aerial is accurately pointing at your preferred transmitter;

2) Move to an area with better TV reception.
