    <description>&lt;P&gt;I was not using a vpn. however it was on link broadband and when I went to whatismyip.com the location just showed up as "," is this the issue if so how do I get the IP to show up as my correct location ?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Now I am back at my main home and when I go to whatismyip.com it shows up as Hull, United Kingdom.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any suggestions ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;bt sport will not work for me outside the uk now. it gives a fault code of LP205 but this doesnt come up with anything on the help page. the main reason i have bt sport is so i can watch sport when im in europe. the bt sport website is still advertising that you can watch in any europian country. is this a random error? or is it not going to work now because of the brexit?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Thank you for posting. What&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/240735"&gt;@-Richie-&lt;/a&gt; has said is correct.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;From the 1st of January 2021, the transition period for the UK to leave the European Union (EU) will have ended and the new rules take effect.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;As a result of this, BT TV and BT Sport customers will no longer be able to use the apps or access the web players in the EU. This includes all live and catch-up services.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;They'll&amp;nbsp;be able to continue to watch in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I'm sorry the help page hasn't been updated and I've highlighted that to be corrected.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>Were you on a VPN when you launched the app? We're aware of an issue that if you start the app with a VPN connected, you'll continue to see location error messages even when the VPN is disconnected.  You need to kill the app and restart, or log out and in again to get it to pick up the change of location.</description>

It looks like your broadband provider is being incorrectly blocked by our location provider as being a VPN.  I've raised a ticket for this to be investigated, but it may be Monday before anyone picks it up.</description>

      <description>Looks like you're using the same broadband provider &lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/288481"&gt;@banyancafe&lt;/a&gt; - I've chased for progress on the ticket raised from this issue last week.  We use a 3rd party to tell us the location of IP addresses - we've asked them to check their list.</description>

      <description>Unfortunately not, can’t even get logged in now lol comes up ‘sorry-there’s a Problem’ with the code id153 and nothing comes up. Be as well cancelling have phoned up and been told check location settings and turn off vpn however location settings are fine and don’t have a vpn</description>

I am hugely disappointed that, since 1 January, BT customers can no longer watch BT Sport whilst in the EU (after all, as a Dutchman resident in thre UK I was not entitled to cast my vote in the Brexit Referendum...). You mention that 'new rules' came into force on 1 January. What are these and who decided on them?...I am most curious and, in any event, fail to understand the reason in this case. Did BT advise its customers?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>EU law required that content be portable - this meant that content providers had no choice but to allow their content to be played throughout the EEA.&lt;BR /&gt;With Brexit, the EU portability law no longer applied. This meant that content providers were legally allowed to tell BT to restrict the content to UK - and they did.&lt;BR /&gt;The rules are from the owners of the content.</description>
