VC086 error watching BT Sport on MacBook

I did search and saw thread on this, but not sure solutions will help me.

Just inherited son's older MacBook (I paid for it), as he has newer one. Tried Chrome and watching in private window but no good. am I doomed?

Hi @Longshanks that error normally means your browser is blocking the BT Sport cookies needed to view the stream.

On your computer, open Chrome
At the top right, click More (3 dots)
Click Settings, then Privacy and Security
Select Cookies and other site data
Select Allow all cookies

Hi again Neil

Sorry for delay. Taking me f###ing ages to find my way around MacBook structure and terminology. We seem to have “Google” already installed. (When you launch Safari) However, can’t find the three dots at top right. I wonder whether this is Google, but not Chrome. I tried to download and install Chrome, but wanted admin password which I need to get from my son.

I can manage Windows, iPad, iPhone, but the Mac is challenging to me of little brain. Will speak to son tomorrow.

I'm not that familiar with Mac's myself but on the few occasions that I've used one I did think it was a good machine but as you've noticed the layout was a bit baffling for me as well and would take a bit of getting used to.

The instructions I provided were for the Google Chrome browser, Safari is below.

Click the Safari dropdown menu
Select Preferences
Click Privacy in the top panel
Under Block cookies select Never
For increased security, once you have finished using the site, please change the Privacy setting back to Always

Found that we already had Chrome installed on MacBook. Followed your instructions and it worked.

Hi @Longshanks That's great, I'm glad it worked. Yes BT Sport will work with Safari but you'll need to make sure that it's not blocking cookies. My previous post has the instructions showing you how to check that.

block cookies is unchecked in Safari but still no joy
